Introducing DIAMANT (pronounced DIE-MONT) a new company on a mission to provide a stress free travel experience to and from the mountain. They claim they’ve created the smartest boot bag ever built and their Kickstarter was a huge success!

When they reached out and asked me to review their Weekend Warrior Boot Bag, I immediately thought, this company must have heard the many years of parental pleas… as in, “please create a product that makes it easier for us to haul ALL our gear!” Turns out they did, from their own ski and snowboard parents and chose to respond with, “challenge accepted!”

WEEKEND WARRIOR BOOT BAG

The first thing I noticed when I pulled it out of the box was that it looked more like a long-distance backpack than a bulky boot bag. With a capacity of 40L, the Weekend Warrior is much larger than a daypack but, can still fit in the overhead on your flight (TSA approved), under your seat on the train or in your gear box on a road trip.

They’ve really thought of how to use every nook and cranny. It carries EVERYTHING on my gear list for a day of skiing + more! It helps that they included an abundance of pockets. Even a designated pocket that carries their convertible On-Mountain Pack, for when you arrive at your destination and need a smaller pack to get out on the hill.

The second thing I noticed was the bags sturdy material which felt top quality and EASY TO CLEAN. My husband was the first to test it on a trip across three states via Amtrack train. After 72 hours, the bag returned home looking like it had just come out of it’s plastic wrap. Not a stain, not a scuff. I later found out that these bags are made from a nylon designed for bullet proof vests.

I love it when a company uses EXTRA DURABLE materials to create products for outdoorsy families!

The most important components of a bag for me, were quickly evident. The thick padded waist belt along with the chest strap and load lift straps, make this boot bag EXTREMELY comfortable to carry, even when fully loaded! Being a small Mama, who often carries HEAVY LOADS, I do not take these components for granted.

Perhaps the best surprise was seeing the TPU coated zippers. A TPU coating makes your zippers waterproof, airtight and resistant to low and high temperatures. This along with the addition of large zipper pulls that could easily be locked together for security, make me confident I can carry my valuables in this bag, both safely and securely.

Con’s:

  • No water bottle pocket

    • mine is always with me and I appreciate a pocket on my bag that gives me easy access.

  • Too big for young children to manage

    • maybe they will come out with a child’s size in the future, to help parents foster independence in their children.

Other features:

  • Helmet carry canopy

  • Padded laptop sleeve

  • Protective goggle pocket

  • Matching toiletry kit

  • Boot ventilation

  • Luggage sleeve

  • Clothing compression system

  • Strong Duraflex buckles

The Weekend Warrior Boot Bag carries so much more than just boots. Pack up your entire gear list!

On-Mountain Pack

Pulling out the On-Mountain Pack really took me back. It was designed to pack down into a hard-shell case that fits conveniently in the front pocket of the Weekend Warrior. I remember having a pack when I was a kid that folded into itself. I don’t think I understood the novelty of such a device until I became a parent.

The first thing I noticed about this pack was its quality material. Strong durable materials are important to outdoor families. This material feels sturdy but lightweight. It’s weatherproof and rip proof and lets just say… I am willing to spend a little more on a product when I don’t have to baby it and it still lasts me years!

This daypack is plenty roomy. Diamant claims it can carry a full avalanche kit and 14” laptop. My brain immediately calculated enough space for a families extra layers and lots of snacks! This is partially do to the abundance of pockets. Including an open side pocket to carry a water bottle. Lovin’ it!

I’ll be honest, I was worried about comfort when I first saw how the hard foam case converts into the back panel of this daypack. But, as soon as I put it on I realized the ergonomic design of this pack is well thought out.

This pack is comfortable! The foam case adds back support, the chest strap and wide shoulder straps help to disperse pack weight and they were brilliant AGAIN to add a waist strap. Be it skinny, the extra support takes weight off your shoulders and keeps your pack firm against your body while skiing. A pack that shifts from side to side can have a negative effect on your balance.

Bonus for families: this pack is a size and weight that could easily be carried by a child. Kids often want to help Helping to carry gear fosters independence and builds confidence. It also serves to save a Mamas back. Win-win!

Con’s

  • Not machine washable

    • With a house full of messy boys, things need to be easy to wash but, Diamant claims a wet rag is all I need.

  • Hard foam case could become misshapen from damage (think child stepping on it)

    • I imagine this would render it uncomfortable but, I have no proof… more testing to come.

Other Features

  • Sleeve for up to 14” laptop

  • Waterproof zippers

  • Non-scratch pocket

  • Heavy duty buckles

  • Carry handle doubles as a luggage sleeve
